It's been over a week since the New Year and I'm finally blogging. (Whoops!) The end of the year wrapped up with more gigs with people I love working with, and a ten day visit to California for my family and some training in San Francisco with Master Lu Yi.
As the New Year commences, I think about creating new works, skill goals, and audition videos. Currently working at the Metropolitan Opera in Aida, I hope to continue cultivating my relationship with the Opera. I had the privilege of attending the inaugural Celebration of Circus Arts. The celebration was a night of circus awards, performances, and all around community rally for the success and continuing success of circus in America. Following that weekend, I attended both the International Circus Exposure 2015, and Alison Chase/Performance. These nights of contemporary circus and acrobatic dance have provided fuel for my own creations, and I am excited to hit the ground running with a few acrobats to experiment and grow a contemporary circus piece.
Home for the holidays! Practicing on the farm in between digging fence posts.
